Now that spring is in full swing and many of you enjoyed the lovely weather we had in April, the HMS team didn’t have the time to put their feet up!
We have fulfilled several commercial initiatives from regeneration and renovation schemes to high friction surfacing in London, Luton, Coventry and Leicester. Furthermore, we completed various domestic projects such as resin patios and driveways in Towcester and Derbyshire.
St Margaret’s Bus Station Regeneration Project, Leicester City Council
The ambitious £13.5 million regeneration of Leicester’s St Margaret’s bus station and its surrounding streets will build a striking new building and create more attractive routes for pedestrians and cyclists to revamp the city centre.
We were appointed by Danaher and Walsh Group Ltd on behalf of Morgan Sindall Group PLC to lay 2,200 m2 of decorative resin bonded surfacing in Amber Gold to the main carriageway centre islands, footpaths and cycle lanes to ensure the project remains in keeping with the rest of the city centre, as well as, helping to create more attractive routes for pedestrians.
Ashbrook Court, Prologis Park, Coventry
Ashbrook Court is a modern office building situated on Central Boulevard at the entrance of Prologis Park in Coventry. The landlord wanted to refurbish the building in between tenants and as part of this he wanted to install decorative surfacing to revamp the outside of the building and improve the overall aesthetics
HMS laid 348m2 of Decra®Stone resin bonded surfacing in Amber Gold and a corresponding colour for a Resin Bound Tree Pit.
Davidson Homes, The Oaks at Bowden View, Market Harborough
Davidson homes are building a range of 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom homes on the outskirts of Market Harborough and HMS was appointed by Coalville Surfacing to lay decorative surfacing to the shared driveways in readiness for the opening of the show homes.
Phase one saw us install approximately 200m2 of Decra®Set Golden Amber resin bound paving to the shared driveways and tree pit. I think we can all agree, it looks fantastic.
Guided Busway System, Luton
Luton’s guided busway system is said to be the second-longest busway in the world and recently Luton Borough Council appointed Volker Highways to oversee the safety maintenance of the 8.3-mile bus route.
As part of this multi-phase project, HMS has been appointed by F1 Lining on behalf of Volker Highways to replace the high friction surfacing. During phase one of the project, we installed approximately ½ kilometre of Buff Bauxite to the guided rails section and coated red at the T-junction between Chaul End and New Bedford Road.
