September Roundup

Read what we have been up to last month in our September Roundup blog. From High friction surfaces to resin bound it has been a busy month!
Maintenance for Resin Bound and Bonded surfaces

We’ve been enjoying a more ‘normal’ range of projects which have been completed this month, including the recommencement of some of our local authority term maintenance contract projects. In addition, we have started work on a number of new high-end housing development sites in both Leicestershire and Derbyshire, also completing a further phase at a long term private redevelopment project also in Leicestershire.

We are pleased to be recommencing our highways term maintenance work this month, and as things within our sector continue to show signs of improvement, we completed a new pedestrian crossing site on Stamford Street, Mossley. Working to a restricted day-works schedule in order to reduce traffic disruption to this busy area of greater Manchester, our operatives completed around 500m² of BBA approved High Friction Surfacing to enhance safe use of the crossing point for both pedestrians and motorists.

This is a very positive step for our industry in terms of completing routine maintenance as well as just emergency reactive works, and at HMS we look forward to further projects  in this area.

The Old Mill, Collinwood Developments…
This very high specification development of six large private properties has been designed and built in this picturesque location by Collinwood Developments

The site is steeped in history and sits on the River Sence. On the site once stood the Old Mill house and a bakery which provided the village of Great Glen and the former Old Mill Wheel which sits close to the road dates back to the 1800’s.

Each property will benefit from completely loose-stone free and SUDS compliant Decra®Set resin bound paving finished in contemporary Danish Gold, contrasting perfectly with the communal access road which will be completed using a darker Heritage Bronze natural aggregate, due to be completed as part of phase two imminently.

The Hall, East Farndon…
As a continuation of further works to this large scale renovation of the historic Hall at East Farndon, HMS visited for a third time in September to complete approximately 400m² of resin bound paving to the driveway/courtyard area of the property. Having already completed extensive footpaths to the rear of the house, including timber constructed pool-house steps and footpath routes through the formal gardens, the driveway has since been completed using the same Heritage Bronze aggregate which contrasts effectively against the brickwork, accents and render of both the new and existing buildings it surrounds.
