October Resin Round Up

Laying DecraStone Resin Bonded Paving

Despite the lower temperatures and slightly unpredictable weather, HMS are still very much busy installing a variety of jobs, albeit between the rain showers! Take a look at our October Resin Round Up for our recent projects this month.

Unlike some other similar surfacing contractors, HMS does not have a specific cut-off period for the application of resin bound and resin bonded paving. It’s true that flexibility in relation to installation is required throughout the cooler months, but there is little need to embargo all works entirely unless the weather is extreme.

Some of our resin round up and recent projects throughout October include:

York Road, Leicester: approximately 350m² of Silver Grey resin bonded gravel installed to footpath areas around this central city location, adjacent to Newarke Street car park and a busy student accommodation area. Works were required to be completed at night as no closures were possible, making working conditions a little tricky! That being said, the installation was completed in one shift, and looks great!

Vaughan Way, Leicester: Forming part of the Winvic and prestigious ‘Project Medius’ redevelopment on Vaughan Way, HMS were required to install a further approximately 800m² of Amber Gold resin bonded paving, to match in with the other 2,000m²+ already installed on this scheme over the last 12 months. Covering large expanses of footpath and flanking a brand new hotel, office and apartment building, attention to detail was paramount to this installation.

Dewsbury, Leeds: A little less glamourous but equally if not actually more important has been approximately 5,000m² of over-banding road repair compound installed to a residential housing estate on the outskirts of Leeds. With the old asphalt surfacing having been planed off ahead of our arrival, HMS were tasked with over-banding all the longitudinal, transverse and curb edge joints on the now-exposed concrete deck. This will stabilise and preserve the concrete deck, ahead of the new tarmac road surface being laid.

So despite the winter, there are still plenty of jobs to be done!
