At HMS we have managed to make to most of the warm and settled weather through June by completing a number of outdoor resin flooring projects, including:
Felstead Road – DAB Civils:
We were initially contacted by DAB Civils on behalf of Leicester City Highways back in 2020, in relation to this large scheme in the LE4 area of the city. A number of new social housing units have been constructed, with around 500m of footpath areas being completed in Golden Amber porous SUDS compliant resin bound paving.
Laid at an installation thickness of 40mm and using a super hard wearing Extra Strength binder, this granular sub base installation took just shy of a week to complete, all laid by hand, by our skilled and qualified workforce.
Industrial Contractor Services – Highbury Hospital:
This is the first scheme we have worked with ICS, after being contacted back in the spring in relation to some courtyard improvement works due to be carried out at this specialist NHS site in Nottingham.
The transformation of this enclosed courtyard area has been fantastic, and will ideally benefit patients and staff alike. Taking away old, damaged paving and lots of weeds, adding a large sheltered pergola and finishing with Silver Grey granite porous paving to the seating area, works here have made the world of difference, and make for a very pleasant environment.
Due to the nature of the scheme, HMS operatives had to negotiate transporting materials through internal corridors, whilst maintaining the security of the building and being respectful of the residents and service users present on site.
Syresham – Lydon Contracting:
HMS has carried out a number of highways schemes for Lydon Contracting in recent years, however, this is the first prestigious resin surfacing private project undertaken for them. Nestled in a quiet village spot, a large country house that looks deceptively like it’s 400 years old but actually isn’t, is now flanked by an even more modern Sandy Gold porous resin bound driveway.
The 340m installation was completed over a two-day period and features a flower bed turning circle and 3mm aluminium trim to the day joint as an additional feature. Installed using both hand application and our bespoke custom power float, it’s one of our recent favourites.
