Chelsea Bridge Wharf - Resin Bonded Aggregate

HMS this week has been working on behalf of SSG Contracts to refresh resin bonded paving to footpaths in a prestigious private development on Chelsea Bridge Wharf, South West London.

Chelsea Bridge Wharf is a glamorous, luxury riverside development occupying a prime central London riverside location.

Situated on the South Bank on the end of Chelsea Bridge and a stone’s throw from Battersea Power Station, and The Kings Road, there could hardly be a more metropolitan location south of the River. Surrounded by bars, restaurants and entertainment plus unrivalled views over the Thames, these sought after properties are certainly worthy of their facelift.

With 1,126 apartments created over five phases, Chelsea Wharf Bridge was innovatively designed for modern, state-of-the-art city living. A central, tree-lined boulevard runs through the development, right down to the water’s edge. On-site facilities include a private parking, health-and-fitness centre, restaurants, bars, offices and a four-star hotel.

Regenerated by the Berkeley Group and designed in accordance with Lifetime Homes, EcoHomes and BREEAM, Chelsea Bridge Wharf has won an impressive array of awards. The development aims to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity, and is positioned around exquisitely and expertly designed water gardens, landscaped terraces, fountains and water features.

A large part of the hard landscaping on this site comprises of over 500m² of Decra®Stone resin bonded footpaths, giving excellent slip resistant yet highly decorative access to the various building entrances.

Having been previously laid to a concrete base, some wear and tear had become evident over the years that have followed original completion.

HMS were initially tasked to visit site and establish the type and grading of resin bonded paving used on the site, before presenting our findings and recommendations for remedial action to SSG.

All works have since been completed using a 1-3mm Brittany Bronze aggregate to match with the existing, dramatically improving both the appearance and performance of the surfacing.
