HMS 2021 Roundup

Here at HMS, we’re still actively trying to navigate the industry resin shortages, with a combination of sensible programming and savvy procurement! Fortunately, we have still been able to complete a couple of larger schemes this month, and we’re very pleased with the results. Read our August Roundup 2021 to learn more…

Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow – CIK Construction:

We were appointed by our regular London surfacing contractor CIK Construction on behalf of Corbyn Construction. Blackhorse View is a brand-new Barratt Homes development of 350 new properties in the thriving creative and cultural hub of Walthamstow in East London, London Borough of Culture 2019 – part of a £200m transformation of the area.

The development is in a superb Zone 3 location opposite Blackhorse Road underground station, fantastic transport links connect to King’s Cross in just 12 minutes.

Each home in this collection of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments includes private outdoor space, with residents also able to enjoy communal landscaped gardens, rooftop terraces, and proposed new café and shops on the development.

HMS has just spent the week adding to the finish of the landscaped courtyard with the addition of super-contemporary resin bound paving to walkway and seating areas finished in light and bright Butterscotch resin bound gravel blend.

In excess of 500m has been completed over the four-day project including the installation of aluminium trim to sharpen the edges, and textural landscaping in keeping with the architect’s design for the space.

Following on from very positive feedback from the main contractor, HMS will be back to continue with Phase 2 in late September 2021!

Collinwood Developments, Great Glen – Completion:

HMS has spent lots of time at this Old Mill development in rural Leicestershire for Collinwood Developments to include the installation of six large driveways finished in resin bound in Danish Gold gravel, and then finally on to the shared access/entrance, most recently completed in contrasting Heritage Bronze gravel.

Darker in colour than the driveways and containing a warm bronze undertone, the surfacing continues to blend and contrast with the assortment of surrounding materials, as well as the vast woodland and natural landscaping that supports this very individual development.

Resin Bound Paving installed to a 25mm moderate commercial depth specification, the resin bound paving will be able to easily accommodate larger vehicle such as refuse and delivery lorries, remaining contemporary and modern for years to come.

With no stone migration, porous SUDS compliant construction, and minimal overall maintenance this project really showcases the diverse use for our decorative resin bound systems.

As ever, we are trying to accommodate our clients as much as possible by carefully planning and looking at works programming, alongside material availability and required completion dates. Although some flexibility is advised, we have still been meeting the needs of our clients through this time, and are very much still welcoming new enquiries, so do get in touch!
