Cost of Resin Bound
  • What is the cost of resin bound paving?

The supply and fit cost of resin bound paving by qualified and insured HMS installers starts from around £50.00 per square meter, plus VAT. To ensure our costs are covered, a minimum charge may be applied to very small areas.

Groundworks and/or preparation as required will be at an additional cost, and depending on what is necessary may range from an additional £30 – £100 plus VAT per square meter. This may include things like excavation, landscape design, hardcore, and tarmac. HMS can offer you a range of reputable groundwork and surfacing contractors to take care of this element for you with confidence.

  • Can I buy the material and install myself?

Resin bound Decra®Set material is available to buy from our group company Resin Sales Direct and kits start from around £85.00. We always recommend only installing our products if you have knowledge of construction and/or groundwork processes to ensure the optimum finish for your project.

  • Can I use my existing base construction?

Well, yes and no. For example, if you are looking to self-install to your own property and you want to cover an existing patio it may well be absolutely fine. However, commercially we always recommend applying resin bound surfacing, and in fact all of our outdoor resin paving systems to a properly prepared base to allow for optimum performance and longevity. Decra®Set bound paving should be applied to a porous, free draining tarmac or granular base construction, such as well compacted Type 1 or open graded 14mm binder course for best results.

All bases should be constructed and specified to withstand their anticipated load/use.

  • Do I need special equipment?

Most tools and products required for a successful installation are widely available such as floor trowels and masking tape. However we do strongly recommend the use of a minimum 120 litre forced action mixer, available to hire from most mainstream hire shops.
