Starting the process of a new resin bound surface project may appear a little daunting at first as there can be many questions. We’ve put together 5 easy steps to show you it’s actually really quite simple and straightforward.
First things first; contact HMS via the website www.hmslimited.co.uk, through our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn), by phone on 01858 881 111, or email us directly at [email protected]. Regardless of whether you are a commercial or domestic client, we will usually ask for some preliminary information including:
What are you looking to achieve?
What is your ideal budget?
What is your current surface condition and type?
Where are you located?
Can you send us some photos?
For our commercial clients; do you have specifications, construction drawings, or bill of quantity information?
Once we’ve received your basic details, we’ll contact you through your preferred method to discuss possible options, requirements, and arrangements for any preparation and give you a rough estimate of the potential cost. Once you’re happy with the cost we can arrange for a site visit at a suitable time to properly assess the project.
If you have submitted specification information as a commercial client, we will send you a quote based on the information provided at this stage.
We will attend to properly assess your site, to include a full measure of the existing or prospective area, giving consideration to things such as surface condition and performance, type and quality of existing base and adequacy of water management and drainage etc.
In most cases, a degree of preparatory works is usually required to ensure the long-term performance and longevity of your new resin surface. HMS can advise you in terms of selecting a reputable contractor for your preparatory works, or in some cases find one for you, and offer a package price instead.
Following on from our site meeting, a formal quotation will be offered. At this point, we encourage our clients to consider colour options and finishing touches by either visiting our extensive showroom or requesting free of charge material samples online via the website.
Quotes are generally valid for 30 days, however can be re-issued for longer-term projects. Specific terms can be agreed upon for larger commercial schemes.
Should you wish to proceed we will arrange an installation date with you and make plans to complete your scheme! If preparatory works have been undertaken in the interim we will look to inspect these to ensure your project is ready to go! If you have had new tarmac or extensive groundworks we strongly recommend a minimum 28 day settlement period to reduce reflective cracking and to improve surface adhesion.
A typical resin driveway installation can be completed within a single day, plus curing time, meaning disruption should be kept to a minimum.
