March Round Up 2021

As we’re getting ever nearer to the promise of a bit of normality, at HMS we’re still striving to keep it business as usual, whilst focusing on the added responsibility of maintaining not just the safety of our own employees but also others benefitting from our works.

Creating safe environments has always been a big factor in our works agenda, from high friction anti slip surfacing on the highways to road repairs and colour flooring to protect cyclist, pedestrians and drivers alike. Lots of these schemes still need to be completed, even in a global pandemic!

Murrill Construction – Ealing Council, London.
Many even essential projects have been delayed due to ongoing restrictions, and as such HMS have been assisting Murrill Construction with a back-log of high friction surfacing schemes throughout the London Borough of Ealing, focussing on enhancing road safety at crossing points throughout the borough.

Works were completed overnight to reduce disruption to daytime traffic as much as possible, while traffic management remained in situ to protect our works area and operatives throughout the laying process. Installed using a HAPAS/BBA approved Type 1 surfacing material, and completed in a corresponding high PSV Grey bauxite natural aggregate, this system offers exceptional slip resistance for braking vehicles, subsequently enhancing the safety of road users and pedestrians alike.

Collinwood Building Services – Great Glen.
Jumping at the chance to utilise a spell of unseasonably warm weather to our advantage, last weekend saw the next instalment of Decra-Set porous resin bound outdoor flooring to another of the individually designed and highly specified private developments at Old Mill Close in Great Glen. With natural landscaping and river views, our Super Six Danish Gold blend sits perfectly in this rural setting, whilst complimenting the colours and textures of the architecture of the build itself.

Fully porous and SUDS compliant allows for a fully free draining surface, mitigating standing water and frozen patches in winter. Smooth to the touch with zero stone migration, its highly recommended for contemporary driveways, recreational spaces and commercial projects across the board.

We’re hopeful as lockdown restrictions ease and the warmer weather is approaching that we will continue to complete on some amazing projects this summer – watch this space for updates!
