Here at HMS we maintain a number of nationally recognised certifications and accreditations, which benefit both our business and our clients in a number of ways. As an accredited resin installer maintaining and auditing our performance across quality, safety and industry specific compliance means that our customers can work with us with absolute confidence.
For the most part, a great deal of time and also cost is involved in maintaining our various accreditations, including consistent in-house monitoring and auditing, office and site-based inspections, keeping up to date with legislative changes and ensuring ongoing professional development in all areas of the business.
You may be familiar with some of the logos on our website, but what do they actually mean in practice?
ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Accreditation:
ISO 9001 is the International Standard for Quality Management Systems.
It is designed to help organisations ensure that they meet the needs of their customers by having a framework in place that helps ensure consistent quality in the provision of goods and services.
This standard uses a process approach and is based on 7 quality management principles, which include having a strong customer focus, the involvement of top management, and a drive for continual improvement.
On a practical level, we are required to keep accurate records and procedural documentation of all business-related processes, reviewed regularly and updated as required. This can involve in-house and third party auditing of office, administration, management, and on-site processes across the full scope of the business.
Constructionline Gold Award:
Used by the construction industry in the UK, the database is accessed by over 2,000 organisations including central government, local authorities & main contractors all who require us to be accredited before beginning the tender process. i.e., allowing us to bid for new work!
Assessed on additional areas such as; environmental management, quality management (see ISO 9001 above!), equalities and diversity. It ensures contractors abide legislation in areas such as modern slavery, anti-bribery and corruption and shows we have been assessed and adhere to these standards to potential buyers.
Assessed for and awarded, an SSIP accreditation such as CHAS already in place demonstrates to buyers that we comply with health & safety legislation.
Constructionline Gold offers assurance to buyers that our organisation has been subjected to increased scrutiny around governance and risk management and will allow us to bid for and win more work.
CHAS SSIP Health and Safety:
The CHAS accreditation is a pre-approval scheme allowing contractors such as ourselves to demonstrate proficiency to the required Health & Safety standards.
CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is an accreditation scheme designed for those working within the construction industry. The purpose of the CHAS accreditation is to provide a method of proof that our business’ health and safety processes are of a high standard.
Our processes, and performance in terms of health and safety are regularly reviewed and audited to ensure compliance, which has been especially prevalent since the start of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
HMS is also accredited by ECO Star environmental and is a longstanding member of the British Board of Agrement.
So if you have a resin bound paving, resin bonded paving or high friction/anti skid project please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss how our accreditations can benefit your procurement choices when considering working with HMS!
