So, here are a couple of our personal favourites – from the Hamleys store in Westfield, Davidson’s Homes housing development, and works completed on a Dementia Garden at the Evington Centre – it has been a busy year!
Hamleys, Westfield

If you’re visiting the capital over the holiday season, be sure to check out the new Hamleys store in Westfield! We installed 15m² of EPDM Wet Pour Safety Surfacing underneath a slide as part of their new in-store initiative to help create an engaging and educational play area. We matched the iconic Hamleys Pillar Box red to reinforce the brand whilst also creating a safe environment for children to play in!
Davidson’s Homes housing development

We also found ourselves in a new housing development in Ratcliffe, Sileby. Here we laid resin bound paving to a shared access driveways – tying the project together. Smooth resin bound finishes like this really come to life when large areas are treated, Golden Amber being our most popular aggregate of choice and it really isn’t hard to see why!
Dementia Garden, Evington Centre

Back in June, the HMS team laid resin bound paving in the Dementia Garden at the Evington Centre, Leicester. The garden is a safe space to help encourage purposeful pottering and socialising with friends as part of reminiscence theory activities. This surface type is ideal for areas such as these as not only is the finish smooth all over but therefore trip resistant! It is porous, hard-wearing, and low maintenance – an area that will continue to look good for many Christmases to come!
It has been another packed year for us all here at HMS but completing jobs such as these makes it all worth it. We can now begin to look forward to the year ahead, and we’ll be sure to carry on completing exciting projects in 2023!
