Skanska/Peterborough Highways – Bluebell Footbridge, Nene Park – October 2014
HMS was approached by Peterborough Highways to prepare and re-surface Bluebell Footbridge in Nene Park as part of on-going restoration. The bridge deck required extensive preparation including the removal of old material and suitably priming. The Authority had chosen to re-surface the bridge deck with SafeLane™ aggregate, a specialist surface dressing which comprises bespoke technology to retain de-icing chemicals to prevent freezing and sheet ice in winter conditions. Special measures were employed to ensure no material or detritus from the bridge deck entered the watercourse below.
‘We recently used HMS to complete SafeLane™ on a footbridge in Peterborough. The works were completed without incident, in a professional manner, with a high-quality finish as a result’
