Imprinted Surfacing is an attractive option for traffic calming measures in urban areas, providing a low maintenance alternative to block paving, which is quicker to install and more attractive than traditional coloured surfacing.
Imprinted Surfacing is a 'no dig' surface applied ‘block paving style’ imprinted resin surfacing system installed directly onto a surface of sound construction. The result is an alternative to block paving without the need for excavation, granular fill and a sand base. Road closures can be easily avoided and when complete, ‘Hi-Print’ gives the same trafficking properties of block paving with a slight rumble effect. Maintenance benefits include avoidance of weed growth, dislodgement and breakages.
As well as all the traditional uses of traffic calming surfacing where 'Hi-Print’ is a superior option, the product is particularly useful when you want to dissuade the use of ordinary car traffic. For example in trafficked areas for Pedestrianised Precincts, Parking and Loading Bays, Bus Gates and 20mph Zones.
Imprinted Surfacing can be very attractive and effective in urban residential improvement projects. ‘Home Zones’ are redevelopments where a locality is designed primarily to meet the interests of pedestrians and cyclists rather than motorists. These schemes change the emphasis for the driver, giving them the impression it is normal to drive slowly and carefully.
Imprinted Surfacing is available from HMS as 'Imprint'has a variety of designs, such as block, slab or cobbled paving with a choice of colours to blend in with the environment. Designed to be laid at a thickness of between 3mm and 5mm, ‘Hi-Print’ has excellent skid resistance as an added safety benefit.
