HMS target zero impact on the environment and are committed to constant improvement of performance

HMS and the Environment

We all need to minimise the impact of our lives and businesses which may detrimentally disturb the environment.  HMS acknowledges these needs and its obligations to legislation and regulations, which are designed to maintain and improve the environment.

HMS supply a range of 'environmentally friendly' decorative surfacings which use resin bonded aggregates.  These veneer surfacings use minimal quantities of aggregates and are far less wasteful than resurfacing in general.  Some of the HMS aggregates are manufactured from mined ores, which have no immediate highway use in their natural state.  Similarly, the HMS imprinted patterned surfacing consumes far less aggregate than conventional block paving, looks as good, is more versatile and easier to install.

HMS' clients and customers are making careful decisions about small, controlled and desirable improvements to the environment in specifying products which will maintain and improve the condition of the surface on their projects.

By the nature of its business, HMS will undertake to make designed changes to the environment as specified by its clients by the installation of a variety of treatments available from HMS and other partner organisations.

HMS recognises that if its activities are uncontrolled, unintentional and undesirable impact on the environment may occur.  The Directors, Managers and Workforce have a collective and individual responsibility to aim for zero impact, to eliminate pollution, to recycle wherever possible and dispose of waste responsibly.

HMS has a responsibility not only for now, but to work with our suppliers to improve its products for the future.
