Flexi-Screed
Flexi-Screed

Inlaid crack repair system for the ultimate solution to extend the life of all pavement types

Flexi-Screed’ is a stress absorbing crack repair system which is superior to Overband sealants in all attributes.  Ideal for extending the life of cracks and spalled joints on rigid and flexible pavements for highways, airfields and other industrial access roads, ‘Flexi-Screed’ is not surface applied, but inlaid, permitting the use of a high strength compound in  a recessed repair.

‘Flexi-screed’ is an ideal repair system for cracked and damaged areas where the damaged area is first removed by Micro-Planing.  HMS undertake the operation to ‘Micro-Plane’ and prepare the substrate with specially designed planer heads.  ‘Micro-Planing’ provides a stable recess for a successful inlaid repair with the ‘Flexi-screed’ compound.  Maximum depth of ‘micro-planing’ is typically 25mm and the width is dependent on the condition of the substrate.

Special grades are available which are designed to resist deformation on pavements with slow moving or stationery traffic loads, e.g. airport taxiways and runways or industrial estates.  'Flexi-Screed' has superior skid resistance to 'Flexi-Band' and is typically laid at 100mm wide.  The width of ‘Flexi-Screed’ is dependent upon the substrate and extend of the cracking but on larger widths, an aggregate dressing can also be specified for increased skid resistance.

‘Flexi-Screed AS100’ is the conventional product for most applications.  ‘Flexi-Screed AS50’ is designed to resist deformation on heavily trafficked locations e.g. airport taxiways or runways.
